Robi-Drishty debate competition kicks off

CHITTAGONG, Aug 22: Robi-Drishty inter-school, college and university debate competition kicked off at the Theatre Institute, ChittagongĀ Thursday.
A total of 30 schools from Chittagong, 10 colleges and 24 universities from Dhaka and Chittagong are taking part in the debate competition. Robi has been sponsoring the annual event since 2006.
Mahfuz Anam, editor of The Daily Star, inaugurated the debate competition. Washika Ayesha Khan, MP, Wahid Malek of the daily Azadi and Masud Bakul, president Drishty were present on the occasion. Nazmul Karim, Chittagong area manager and Nadeea Khandker, manager, CSR and sponsorship from Robi Axiata Ltd were also present at the inauguration ceremony.
Thanking Drishty for organising the event Robi Chittagong area manager said that Robi is proud to be sponsoring the competition for nine years. Over the years this completion has come to be seen as a very important educational event in the country. Robi believes in "igniting the power within" and I am confident the participants will do just that in the battle of minds. The debate competition will end on August 30.
