'Robi' posts Tk 397m net profit in Q3 of this year

Robi Axiata Limited, owners of the telecom brand 'Robi', posted Tk 397 million net profit in the third quarter (Q3) of this year against its Tk 472 million of loss in the same period of 2009.
Robi's profit stood at Tk 800 million in the first nine months of 2010. The annual profit of last year for Robi was Tk 850 million.
The figures were disclosed at a press briefing held in a city hotel Sunday.
The press briefing was attended by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of 'Robi' Michael Kuehner, Chief Financial Officer Mahtab Uddin Ahmed and Chief Marketing Officer Bidyut Kumar Basu and other top officials of the company.
The Robi officials informed the media that in the third quarter of this year Robi posted a significant growth in areas of revenue generation, PAT (profit after tax), EBITDA (earning before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation) and subscriber base.
