Robi to sponsor BD cricket team for next two years

Mobile phone operator 'Robi' emerged as the new sponsor of the Bangladesh national cricket team for the next two years starting next June, reports UNB.
The media agency "Top of Mind" has assigned the sponsorship right to Robi Axiata Limited through a press conference at the home of Bangladesh Cricket-Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium-Mirpur Thursday.
Under the agreement, Robi has earned the right to sponsor the national cricket team, Under-19 team and Bangladesh A-team in the year. But sponsorship right of Robi will not cover for the event, organised by International Cricket Council (ICC).
Earlier on Wednesday (May 20), President of Bangladesh Cricket Board Nazmul Hasan Papon, MP, at a press conference, informed that Top of Mind had beaten Grameenphone with a winning bid of Tk 410.00 million (41 crore).
Addressing the function, Chief Operating Officer of Robi Mahtab Uddin Ahmed said, "We are very pleased to be a partner of the Tigers in their glorious journey and we think that the Tigers by applying their talent, upholding integrity and through hard work have exemplified what it means to ignite the power within."
Chairman of the BCB Marketing & Commercial Committee Kazi Inam Ahmed, Bangladesh Cricket Board BCB); Chairman of BCB Media & Communications Committee Jalal Younus, CEO of BCB Nizam Uddin Chowdhury and CEO of Top of Mind Ziauddin Adil, Robi's Executive Vice President (EVP) for Regulatory Affairs and Company Secretary Mohammed Shahedul Alam and Vice President for Brand and Market Communications Khandaker Ashraful Haque were also present on the occasion.
