Robi witnesses 16pc growth in 2013

Mobile phone operator Robi has reported a healthy 16 percent growth in revenue in 2013 despite some adverse challenges. In line with the revenue growth, the third largest operator in the country has also posted vigorous growth in year-to-date (YTD), operating profit/EBITDA (Earnings before Tax, Depreciation and Amortization) and Profit after Tax (PAT) exhibiting its strong focus on operational excellence. The operator has made BDT 45.2 billion revenue in 2013 from the BDT 38.9 billion in 2012 while YTD EBITDA growth stood at a healthy 30 percent from BDT 12.3 billion in 2012 to BDT 16 billion by 2013. Robi today at a press conference also announced it has improved its market share by adding 4.3 million customers in 2013 overcoming the intense competition and other challenges. The active Robi subscribers now stand at 25.4 million which is 23.3 percent of subscriber market share, according to BSS.
