Robot expo held at BRAC University
Thursday, 12 April 2012
BRAC University Electrical and Electronic Club (BUEEC) recently organised an exclusive Robot Exhibition to put forth a bridge between the individuals who have been able to develop the robots and people who are curious about robots, said a press release.
The exhibition had the privilege of robots such as - Multi-model Human Interaction Based Human assistant robot which can be driven by the gestures of our hand and is able to detect human hand position and can be used to drive a car thus enabling us to have an automated car driving system; we also had a robot named An Eye-controlled system - which allows us to have an automated system that can be controlled by the use of human eyes.
The main attraction of the exhibition was the very "CHONDROBOT" which has set a stepping stone in terms of progress of Bangladesh in the world arena in the field of developing robots.
BRAC University became the first private University from Bangladesh to send a robot at the prestigious NASA Lunabotics Mining Competition. BRAC University intends to participate at the completion of this year as well and this time the students have developed an improved version of "CHONDROBOT" titled "CHONDROBOT Version 2" and quite a few new features have been added to improve the previous version and both the versions were displayed at the exhibition.
The 3rd NASA Lunabotics Mining Competition will be held from the 21st of May until the 28th of May 2012 at the Kennedy Space Centre.
