Rock python, palm civet rescued in 2 dists

The Forest Department has rescued a rock python and a palm civet, classed as endangered species, from Rangpur and Chapainawabganj districts respectively.
The ‘rock python’ was spotted and confined by an employee of a dairy firm in Honumantola area of Rangpur district, said a PID handout Saturday.
On information, junior wildlife scout M Sanaul Islam went to the spot and brought the eight-foot python to Rajshahi.
Meanwhile, locals confined an ‘Indian palm civet at Kansat in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj.
On information, junior wildlife scout M Sohal Rana rescued the 3.5 foot civet and brought it to Rajshahi, according to a news agency.
