Rokia Afzal, Masud Khan join Marico as independent directors

Marico Bangladesh Limited (MBL)  announced the appointment of two new Independent Directors-- Rokia Afzal Rahman, the President of the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dhaka (MCCI) and Masud Khan--Director, Finance, Lafarge Surma Cement Limited to the Company's Board of Directors for next 3 years. Rokia Afzal Rahman is also the Vice President of International Chamber of Commerce - ICC Bangladesh. Apart from being a leading woman entrepreneur and a former Advisor to the Caretaker Government of Bangladesh, she is also on the Board of Grameenphone Limited as an Independent Director & acts as a Chairperson to MIDAS Financing Limited. She is actively committed to several development initiatives like BRAC, Manusher Jonno Foundation and is also the founder President of Bangladesh Federation of Women Entrepreneurs. On the other hand, Mr. Masud Khan has 35 years of experience in leading multinational companies. He has worked in British American Tobacco Bangladesh for two decades both in Bangladesh and abroad and is a regular lecturer at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh. He is a Fellow Member (FCA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and a Fellow Member (FICWA) of the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India (ICWAI). Mr. Khan currently serves on the board of Glaxo Smithskline, Bangladesh as an Independent Director, said a statement.
