Role of businessmen in establishing socio-economic justice vital

Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) organised a discussion on 'Ramadan in Establishing Socio-Economic Justice' and an Iftar mahfil at a city hotel recently.
Chaired by IBBL Board of Directors Chairman Abu Nasser Muhammad Abduz Zaher, the function was addressed, among others, by former board of directors chairman Mir Quasem Ali, former principal of Rangikhali Aliya Madrasah, Cox's Bazar Lutfur Rahman, Executive Committee Chairman Mominul Islam Patwary and Executive President M Fariduddin Ahmad.
Renowned industrialists, businessmen, senior officials of government and non-government organisations along with valued personalities of different segment of the society took part in the function.
Zaher called upon the industrialists and businessmen to play a significant role in establishing socio-economic justice following the teachings of Ramadan.
He assured them the IBBL would always stand by them for this purpose.
The IBBL chairman said all of their efforts were devoted to the well-being of the people of the country.
Speakers said that Ramadan was the symbol of purification, mutual compassion and unity.
They said proper distribution of assets and social justice were the prerequisite of Islamic finance.
The holy month instructed people to establish justice in society, they added.
