Rooftop gardening

In densely populated Dhaka city, one can hardly find a place for planting a tree, though there are plenty of people in the city who wish to have their own gardens. Trees and vegetation also help by lowering the temperature and saving the environment. To encourage the planting of trees through rooftop gardens, a Facebook group called 'Green Net' was created by a group of 10 to 12 members to share plants and seeds among themselves. Members of the group share their experiences with each other at maintaining their rooftop gardens and train interested people on setting up such gardens. The community has reached around 41,000 members in a matter of three years since its inception. People interested to learn about rooftop gardening can join the group on Facebook.
