Roufabad main road needs urgent repair

The main road in Roufabad, Baizid Bostami, Chattogram (Ward No. 7) has long been in a severely damaged condition. Large potholes, deep cracks and widespread loss of asphalt have made daily movement highly hazardous for commuters, pedestrians, and schoolgoing children. During the rainy season, the situation worsens as waterlogging hides road defects and further increases the risk of accidents, vehicle damage, and traffic congestion.
The damage is not limited to the surface layer; it clearly indicates structural failure of the underlying road base. As a result, repeated patchwork and temporary repairs have proved ineffective and short-lived. A comprehensive rehabilitation plan is urgently required, including removal of the damaged portions, proper reconstruction of the base layers, and durable asphalt resurfacing to ensure long-term usability.
Immediate intervention by the authorities concerned is essential to restore safe mobility, ease public suffering, and improve overall urban connectivity in the area.
