Round-table on TB prevention held in Jessore

JESSORE, Feb 23: A total of 1,875 tuberculosis patients are undergoing treatment at different places in Jessore district till the month of January, 2015.
Of the total nine are patients of multi drug resistant TB, said Dr Emdadul Haque, keynote paper presenter at a roundtable on tuberculosis prevention.
Jointly arranged by BRAC, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Jessore Press Club, the roundtable was held at the press club on Sunday.
Dr Shahadat Hossain, civil surgeon, Jessore chaired the roundtable while Sohel Hasan, additional deputy commissioner, Jessore was the chief guest.
It was attended among others by Kazi Raqib Hossain, senior information officer, Jessore, Dr Abdur Rouf, deputy civil surgeon, Dr Kamrul Islam Benu, president, Bangladesh Medical Association,Jessore, Dr Mamunur Rashid, specialist, SM Idris Alam, district representative, BRAC, Jessore, Jahid Hasan Tukun, president, Press Club Jessore, Tauhidur Rahman, secretary and Mizanur Rahman Tota, Fakhre Alam, Saifur Rahman Saif, Saiful Islam Sazal and Nur Islam, senior journalists and Jafar Sadiq, senior lawyer.
