Rousing reception for Hasina in Beijing

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who is now in China on a 6-day official tour, reached Beijing on Sunday afternoon after wrapping up her 1st leg visit to southern Chinese city of Kunming. A flight of China Southern Airlines carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage, landed at Beijing International Airport around 2:00pm local time (12 noon BST). Liu Zhenmin, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of China, received Sheikh Hasina at the airport. Bangladesh Ambassador in Beijing Muhammad Azizul Haque was also present. After a rousing reception at the airport, the Prime Minister was taken to Diaoyutai State Guest House through a ceremonial motorcade where she will reside during her stay in Beijing. Earlier, the Prime Minister departed Changshui International Airport of Kunming for Beijing at about 10:30am (8.30 BST). Sheikh Hasina arrived in Kunming on June 6 as part of her 6-day official visit to China at the invitation of her Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang. Later this afternoon, the Prime Minister will place wreaths at the Monument of the People’s Heroes at Tiananmen Square, according to BSS.
