Rtd judge under ACC scanner

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) initiated Tuesday a move against former judge Faruq Ahmed as allegations surfaced that he acquitted a large number of accused in several cases by abusing his power. The Commission at its regular meeting on the day appointed a two-member probe team, led by its deputy director Jatan Kumar Roy, to conduct an inquiry against former judge of Dhaka Special Judge Court Faruq Ahmed, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya said.                           — UNB
