RU authority bans controversial drama group 'Dhumketu'

RAJSHAHI: Nov 27: The Rajshahi University (RU) authority has banned the campus-based drama group, Dhumketu Nattya Sangsad, for staging a drama with a controversial role on Great Prophet Muhammad (sm).
The RU authority also has imposed restriction on staging the controversial drama 'Mandar' on the campus.
Earlier on November 3 last the drama group staged the drama 'Mandar' on the campus protesting the removal of Lalon's sculpture at Dhaka's Zia International Airport.
The Islami Chhatra Shibir, Sachetan Chhatra Samaj, Bikalpa Shahitya and Sangskritik Sangsad and many other organisations staged demonstrations on the campus demanding exemplary punishment to those involved in staging the controversial drama.
