RU reforms rules for teachers’ recruitment

RAJSHAHI UNIVERSITY, Jan 2: The Rajshahi University (RU) authority has reformed the rules for the teachers' recruitment at the university recently. According to the new rules authority decreased the CGPA (academic result) in the Honours and Masters level to apply.
Such decision has taken from the 475th syndicate meeting of the university on Sunday with vice-chancellor Prof. M Abdus Sobhan in the chair.
RU syndicate member also a teacher of Accounting & Information System (AIS) Department Dr. Tazul Islam confirmed the news.
Earlier, in 2015 RU administration re-scheduled the rules where candidates must have four 1st classes/divisions or equivalent (At least GPA-4.50 out of 5.00 in case of S.S.C/H.S.C & 60 per cent marks or CGPA-3.50 out of 4.00 in case of Honors & Masters Degree) to apply for the teachers post in RU.
Besides, if have more than one students CGPA-3.50 in case of Honours & Masters Degree in any department, then the students of one to seventh position holders only be to apply.
Another syndicate member Prof. KBM Mahbubur Rahman informed that authority brought out the change in rules for teacher recruitment into three categories. As per category-1 candidates can apply for the post of lecturer if have CGPA-3.00 in the honours and masters level under Arts faculty, Fine Arts faculty and Institute of Bangladesh Studies (IBS).
Under the category-2, candidates can apply with the CGPA-3.25 for the teaching post of the Social science faculty, Law faculty, Institute of Business Administration (IBA) and Business Administration faculty.
Moreover, category-3, CGPA-3.50 must have in the academic career of honours and masters level if someone wants to apply for the lecturer post under Science faculty, Life & Earth faculty, Agriculture faculty and Engineering faculty.
On the other hand, the requirement for SSC and HSC level has been fixed as per requirements of admission in honours course in each faculty wise.
