RU teacher murder case a priority: IGP

Investigation into the murder of Rajshahi University professor Shafiul Islam is being accorded highest priority, Inspector General of Police has said.
Hassan Mahmood Khandker was speaking during a passing-out parade at the Bangladesh Police Academy in Rajshahi’s Sarda Saturday.
“We’re looking into all possible motives behind his murder. There has been some progress in the investigation, but that cannot be revealed for the sake of the ongoing probe.”
He assured that police would soon unearth why the sociology teacher was killed.
Shafiul died last Saturday after he was hacked fatally by attackers just outside the Rajshahi University campus.
Replying to questions from reporters he said, “Police sometimes find clues immediately, but in some cases it takes time. But it is possible to solve a case even if it is delayed, according to a news agency.
