RU teachers asked to ensure accountability

RU Correspondent RAJSHAHI UNIVERSITY, Dec 3: Education Secretary Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury Friday asked for ensuring responsibility and accountability in the institutions of higher studies through bringing about necessary legal reforms for the sake of quality education. He said, "Standard of higher studies still is not at desired level despite increase in the number of students, teachers and institutions, and scope and facilities." Grouping, negligence in teaching and research and longtime absence from educational institutions of a section of teachers are to be blamed from this. Such a situation cannot continue, the secretary also said. He was addressing an international conference titled "Utilisation of Anthropological Knowledge in Development", organised by Anthropology Dept of Rajshahi University to mark their 12th founding day at senate building as the chief guest Friday.
