RU teachers continue boycotting classes, exams

All scheduled classes and examinations of Rajshahi University (RU) remained suspended for the 3rd consecutive day on Tuesday as the teachers have been boycotting classes demanding immediate arrest of the killers of Dr AKM Shafiul Islam, a professor of the Department of Sociology. Rajshahi University Teachers Association (RUTA) has declared its 3-day programme of boycotting classes and examinations which took effect on Sunday. The announcement was made on Saturday afternoon following the gruesome murder near the RU campus. Meanwhile, at a press briefing on Monday afternoon, the agitating teachers warned that they would declare tougher agitation programmes if the killers are not brought to book within 15 days, according to a news agency.
