RU to become first digital campus soon

RAJSHAHI UNIVERSITY, July 12: Rajshahi University (RU) in keeping up with Information technology (IT), is going to be the first digital campus in the country soon.
The process of digitisation has already begun to bring the admission of all academic sessions, salaries for the teachers and other staff under the online.
The work is also near to bring under online the university tender procedures and all information about teachers, officials and students.
In a courtesy meeting the Pro-VC Prof. Chowdhury Sarwar Jahan Sajol told these to the reporters.
A groundbreaking changes has come into the campus through providing smart card to the teachers, stuffs and students.
The varsity authority has been reducing the file of the teachers-stuffs from 5,000 to only 4 files to work in education ministry through online.
Currently about 23 kilometres long optical fibre cable networking has
been provided in all administrative, academic and dormitory buildings as well. Besides, all buildings including different squares of the campus have been connected with the WiFi broadband (wireless network). Such facility is the first in any public varsity of the country, Mr. Sajol also claimed.
35,000 family members of RU will get full online service most likely in November this year.
