Rubel gets HC bail in rape case

The High Court (HC) granted Monday an anticipatory bail for four weeks to national cricketer Rubel Hossain in a rape case, reports UNB.
An HC bench comprising Justice Syed AB Mahmudul Haque and Justice M Akram Hossain Chowdhury passed the order following a bail petition filed by Rubel.
Deputy attorney general M Bashirullah confirmed the bail.
Earlier on Saturday, actress Naznin Akter Happy filed the case against the National Cricket Team pacer with Mirpur Police Station under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act.
According to the first information report (FIR), the actress had been involved in a consensual relationship with Rubel for last eight months.
