A local court has placed Ruhul Amin on a seven-day remand in the case filed in connection with the brutal killing of Sheikh Samiul Alam Rajon in Kumargaon area of Sylhet city on July 8. Judge Anwarul Haque of the Judicial Magistrate Court passed the order on Sunday after police produced Ruhul before his court seeking a 10-day remand. Abdul Ahad, assistant commissioner of Sylhet Metropolitan Police, confirmed the matter. Police arrested Ruhul Amin, brother-in-law of Ali Haider, a suspect named in the FIR of the gruesome killing case, from Tuker Bazar on the outskirts of the city on July 18. Ruhul allegedly helped Ali Haider hide the body of Rajon after the gruesome killing and later tried to intimidate Rajon's father to stop him from filing a case in connection with the murder. With the arrest of Ruhul, nine people have so far been arrested in connection with the gruesome murder, according to a news agency.
