Runa, Sabina nominated for Sheltech Award

Runa Laila and Sabina Yasmin, two most melodious singers of the country, have been nominated for the Sheltech Award-2008, says a press release.
Each will receive Tk 1,00,000 and a crest. The award will officially be given away at a ceremony to be held in the last week of March 2009.
Since 1998, Sheltech has been honouring eminent citizens from various walks of life. So far they have awarded poet Shamsur Rahman (1998), Tagore song exponent Kalim Sharafi (1999), veteran Nazrul singer Firoza Begum (2000), artist Qayum Chowdhury (2001), author Rabeya Khatun (2002), scientist Jafar Iqbal (2003), agricultural development worker Shykh Siraj and puppeteer Mustafa Monwar (2004), dramatist Momtaz Uddin Ahmed, film maker Shubhash Dutta (2005), educationist Abdullah Abu Sayeed, actor Abul Hayat (2006), architect Syed Moinul Hossain and author Humayun Ahmed (2007), the press release mentioned.
