'Rural tourism can help cut rural poverty'

Rural tourism would play a vital role in reduction of rural poverty through generation of jobs, said Rural Development and Cooperatives Division Secretary Md Mashiur Rahman at a function on Wednesday.
He was presiding over a seminar on Mujib's Bangladesh: Role of Rural Tourism in Rural Development at the Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development (BARD), Cumilla, says a press release.
Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism Md. Mokammel Hossain was present as the chief guest.
BARD Director General Md. Shahjahan was present as the special guest.
