Russell play goalless draw with Abahani

Holders Sheikh Russell KC played to a goalless draw with Abahani Limited in the lone match of the Bangladesh Premier Football League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium Monday, reports UNB.
Despite the day's draw, Abahani Limited top the list with 17 points from seven matches while Sheikh Russell KC bagged 12 points from eight matches.
Cameroonian forward Ekele Patrick got the first chance for Abahani in the 27th minute, but his shot was saved nicely by Sheikh Russell goalie Biplob.
In the 30th minute, Abahani midfielder Touhidul Alam spoiled another chance as his fierce drive, off Shahidul Alam pass, whistled past the side post.
After the breather, Sheikh Russell KC started attacking football. Their Haitian forward Pascal Millien in his first appearance missed a chance placing the ball wide in the 55th minute.
Millien wasted another opportunity in the 59th minute as his shot from the middle of the box went straight to Abahani goalie Shahidul Alam Sohel.
