Russia\\\'s G8 partners blast it over Ukraine

Monday, 3 March 2014

The G8 leaders have condemned Russia’s military build-up in Ukraine amid fresh diplomatic efforts to avert a dangerous escalation of the crisis. The world’s seven heavily industrialised countries who are partners of Russia, the other major industrialised nation and member of the Group of 8, also suspended preparations for the G8 summit in Sochi, Russia, in June. Meanwhile, European Union foreign ministers are due to meet in emergency session in Brussels. The moves came as Russia continued to beef up its presence on the Crimean peninsula, according to a news agency.
