S Arabia ready to send more relief for flood victims

Saudi Arabia is ready to send more relief materials as per demand as the Saudi government wants to do whatever it can to help Bangladesh's flood victims, reports UNB.
Charge d' Affaires of Saudi Embassy in Dhaka Sami Jamil Al Hindi said this while handing over relief materials of the first consignment of Saudi Arabia to Food and Disaster Management Adviser Tapan Chowdhury at Energy Ministry Tuesday.
Saudi Arabia is sending a fleet of five cargo planes stuffed with foodstuff, medicine and other humanitarian assistance worth $ 50 million for Bangladesh's flood victims at the instruction of King Abdullah.
This is by far the largest relief aid from any single country for the Bangladesh's flood victims during this year's flooding. The first consignment arrived here Monday night while four others will reach here by August 27.
The relief materials include 7,000 cartons of foodstuff, 20,000 packets of ready food, 10,000 pieces of blankets, 10,000 pieces of bed-sheets, 20,000 pieces of tents and plastic covers and 10 mts of medicine.
