S Asian youth convention begins today

A two-day South Asian Youth convention begins in the city today (Saturday) aiming to encourage youth of the region to look beyond national borders and develop regional outlook, reports UNB.
The convention is expected to help exchange ideas among groups and people from socio-cultural arena of the SAARC member countries.
The SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) will jointly organise the event titled 'LEAD-2012.'
President M Zillur Rahman will inaugurate the event at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the morning.
Finance Minister AMA Muhith, Commerce Minister GM Quader, SAARC Secretary General Fathimath Dhiyana Saeed, former FBCCI and SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Salman F Rahman and SAARC Chamber President Annisul Huq will also address the inaugural session with FBCCI president AK Azad in the chair.
Some 2,000 youths, including students, young entrepreneurs, executives, social activists, intellectuals, political leaders and renowned media personnel from SAARC nations are expected to join the two-day gathering.
