S Korea grants $3.5m for e-govt in Nepal

KATHMANDU, July 7 (Xinhua): South Korea has granted 3.5 million U.S. dollars for the construction of the first Government Integrated Data and Training Center in Nepal, The Himalayan Times reported today.
Resident representative of the Korea International Development Agency (KOICA) Nepal office, Kim Bok-Hee, and the National Information Technology Center, Subarna Shakya, signed a record of discussion on the project Thursday.
Through this project the KOICA will support to build infrastructure for e- government in Nepal by financing the data center, the report said.
Shakya said construction works for the center will begin in three months.
The data center will be a one-stop storehouse of confidential and important data of all government offices, he said.
