S Korean IT cos urged to participate in BASIS SoftExpo

Bangladesh Ambassador to South Korea Shahidul Islam visited office of the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) recently, says a press release.
BASIS President Habibullah N Karim, Vice President Shameern Ahsan, Secretary General Nahid Ahmad, Former president A Towhid and Director M A Mubin Khan were also present on the occasion.
BASIS president dwelt upon the activities undertaken by the association and requested the ambassador to take necessary initiative so that South Korean ICT companies participate in the forthcoming BASIS SoftExpo 2009, which is the largest ICT exposition in the country.
The ambassador announced that the BASIS presentation on software and ITES will be posted on the website of Bangladesh embassy in South Korea. He further assured to invite South Korean ICT companies to participate in the SoftExpo 2009.
BASIS president stated that any delegation from South Korea visiting SoftExpo would be provided local hospitality by BASIS with support from ICT Business Promotion Council, Ministry of Commerce.
The ambassador went round different sections of BASIS office and appreciated rapid expansion of the association and the measures undertaken to develop software and ITES sector of the country.
