SA NCA win 3-match one-day series

Touring South African National Cricket Academy team won three-match one-day series 2-1 beating GP-BCB National Cricket Academy team by two wickets in the 3rd and last match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur today (Tuesday), reports UNB. Hosts GP-BCB Academy opened the innings first after winning the toss and were all out for 181 runs in 49.1 overs. After the departure of top four batsmen-Myshukur (0), Rony (2), Anamul (1) and Mominul (2) for 21 runs in six overs, Nasir Hossain pairing with skipper Mohammad Mithun repaired the early damage contributing 43 runs for the 5th wicket partnership. Nasir Hossain scored a patient 42 runs off 71 balls featuring five boundaries while Mithun made a quick 28-ball 30 runs with the help of seven fours. Lower order Sanjamul Islam (30), Noor Hossain (24) and Alauddin Babu (16) were other notable contributors for the home side. New ball bowler Hardus Viljoen grabbed three wickets for 52 runs while Dane Paterson, Siyabuleia Simetu and Marchant De Lange took two wickets each conceding 20, 23 and 39 runs respectively. In reply, South African Academy team reached their target scoring 184 for 8, also playing 49.1 overs with opener Dominic Handricks scoring matc highest 49 runs off 97 deliveries with three fours. Besides, one down Patrick Botha (42), Hardus Viljoen (34 no) Van Wyk (13) were the other major contributors for the Proteas. Later, Hardus Viljoen for his all round performance was adjudged man of the match. Noor Hossain claimed three wickets for 41 runs while Nasir Hossain and Sanjamul Islam bagged two wickets each for 24 and 28 runs respectively.
