Saarc workshop for media people begins in New Delhi

A five-day Saarc workshop for media people began at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) in New Delhi Monday.
Seventeen participants from Saarc countries are taking part in the workshop organised by the Saarc Information Centre (SIC), according to a news agency.
The workshop is focusing on issues like Saarc opportunities and challenges, Saarc development goals, role of media in Saarc and environment, health, tourism and cultural issues.
IIMC Director General Sunit Tandon, SIC Director Laxmi Bilas Koirala, IIMC Prof KM Shrivastava, who is also the course director of the workshop, attended its inaugural ceremony.
Participants from Bangladesh are-- Md Jahangir Hussain, Senior Deputy Principal Information Officer of the Press Information Department (PID), Director of External Publicity Wing Nripendra Chandra Debnath and Chief Feature Writer of PID Munshi Jalal Uddin.
