Sacked Shariatpur BCL leader 'confesses' to raping six women

SHARIATPUR, Dec 27 (UNB): Expelled Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader Arif Hawladar reportedly confessed before a court here on Wednesday to raping six women, taking video clips of the nefarious acts and releasing those on the internet.
Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Sheikh Mujahidul Islam recorded his 'confessional' statement when police produced him before the court, said Court Police Inspector Jamal Uddin.
After recording the statement, the court sent the sacked BCL leader to jail, he said.
Earlier on Tuesday, police in a drive arrested Arif from the Saikha Bridge area of Gosairhat upazila.
Arif allegedly raped the six women, including housewives and college girls, on several occasions and captured those in his mobile phone.
