Sadharan Bima Corporation earns Tk 420.40m net profit

Sadharan Bima Corporation (SBC), the only general insurance organisation in the public sector, earned net profit of Tk. 420.40 million in 2006 as against Tk. 363.80 million in 2005, said a press release.
It has contributed Tk 380.40 million in 2006 as income tax and share of profit as against Tk 337.60 million in 2005.
The annual accounts of the company for the year 2006 were approved in the 447th board meeting held Wednesday. Chairman of SBC Siddiqur Rahman presided over the meeting. Managing Director of SBC Elias Ahmed and directors Md Momtazul Islam, Mir Shahabuddin Mohammad and Mohammad Ali Patwary, and General Manager Abdur Rahman Bhuiyan were also present in the meeting.
Siddiqur Rahman thanked all for successfully maintaining the continuity of earning profit in spite of global economic recession and expressed the hope that this trend would continue in future too.
