Saleha Munir, mother of journalist Sagor Sarwar who was killed along with his wife Meherun Runi two years ago, has demanded justice for all murdered journalists. “My only request to you all, don’t stop your movement. Carry on your movement for justice for those journalists who have been killed,” she urged the journalists on Tuesday. Saleha was speaking at a memorial meeting of the late journalist couple Sagor and Runi at the Dhaka Reporters Unity auditorium. The auditorium is also named after the couple. Maasranga Television News Editor Sagor and ATN Bangla Senior Reporter Runi were brutally murdered in their East Rajabazar residence in the city on February 11, 2012. The couple is survived by their six-year-old son Megh. Despite government assurance, two years have passed, but the mystery behind the murder is yet to be solved as well as the murderers are yet to be identified and brought to justice. “I want justice, I want justice for my Megh,” said Saleha Munir, according to bdnews24.com.
