Sahara urges law enforcers to bring down crimes

Home Minister Advocate Sahara Khatun Tuesday urged members of the law enforcement agencies to put in their best efforts for bringing down crime to zero level, reports BSS.
"The government will take tough actions against corrupt police personnel for improving the image of the law enforcers," she said while addressing the senior police and RAB officials at Rajarbagh Police Telecom Auditorium after the inauguration of the Police Week-2012 by the Prime Minister early this morning.
Chaired by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Hassan Mahmood Khandkar, the meeting was addressed, among others by State Minister for Home Advocate Shamsul Haq Tuku, Police Coordinator to the Home Ministry Phany Bhusan Chowdhury and Additional Inspector General of Police (Adl-IGP) AKM Shahudul Haq.
Sahara instructed the senior police officials to strictly monitor the activities of officers-in-charges (OCs) of different police stations to check crime and corruption at the field level.
She also asked the field level police officers to respect social values and basic human rights of the citizens.
The home minister instructed the police force to curb criminal activities including cyber crime, money laundering and mobile related offences based on modern and digital technology. She also emphasised imparting modern and time befitting training to achieve the target.
State Minister for Home Advocate Shamsul Haque Tuku said that the police had achieved so many things, but allegation of corruption and negligence to duty still exist.
