Sahara warns against anarchy

Sunday, 27 June 2010

Government would not tolerate anarchy or disorder during the hartal, Home Minister Sahara Khatun said Saturday.
Speaking at a discussion to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking in the city, the minister said the government has no plan to thwart the hartal called on June 27, reports bdnews24.com.
"But if the opposition party tries to create any anarchy, government will act as it's the government's responsibility to take care of public," she added.
Sahara criticised the main opposition for calling the hartal to realise their demands instead of coming to the parliament.
"Come to the parliament and place your demands", she urged the opposition.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner AKM Shahidul Haque said Friday that they would go into action if the processions were brought out on the main streets, including the Mirpur-Airport Road, during the hartal.
