Saiful elected president of LFMEAB

Md Saiful Islam has been elected president and Nasir Khan senior vice president of the Leather goods and Footwear Manufacturers and Exporters' Association of Bangldesh (LFMEAB).
It was announced at the 5th annual general meeting of the association held at a city hotel Saturday. LFMEAB President Md Saiful Islam presided over the meeting, says a press release.
At the very beginning, the meeting observed one minute silence to pay respect to the officers who lost their lives in the recent BDR incident and prayed to the Almighty Allah for the eternal peace of their departed souls.
The meeting reviewed the performance of the association for the year 2008 and adopted the audited accounts. Eight new companies joined the association during the year.
The names of the newly elected executive committee (EC) for the 2009-2010 term were announced at the meeting. They are: President- Md Saiful Islam, Managing Director (MD) of Picard Bangldesh Ltd; Senior Vice-President- Nasir Khan, MD of Jennys Shoes Ltd; Vice-President (Finance)- Mohammed Nazmul Hassan, MD of Leatherex Footwear Industries Ltd; Vice-President- Shakil Ahmed Khan, MD of Apex Leathercraft Fashion and Accessories Ltd; and the members of the EC are: Quazi Rafi Ahmed, MD of Legacy Footwear Ltd; Md Mahbubur Rahman Patwari, Director of Sonali Aansh Industries Ltd and AKM Afzalur Rahman, MD of Landmark Footwear Ltd.
