Thursday, 6 November 2008

The High Court (HC) Wednesday asked former ministers M Saifur Rahman of BNP and Ali Ahsan Muhammad Mujaheed of Jamaat to surrender to the trial court within November 10 in the Boropukuria coalmine graft case, reports UNB.
Earlier Tuesday, the court passed an identical order asking ex-minister and Jamaat-e-Islami chief Motiur Rahman Nizami to surrender to the trial court.
The High Court paid no heed to the bail prayers of the former ministers of the BNP-led coalition government.
Passing separate orders, a division bench comprising Justice M Mozammel Hossain and Justice Afzal Hossain Ahmed also held in reserve for order on November 11 their quashing petitions against the case.
