Saikat steers Sylhet

Opener Saikat Ali's century guided hosts Sylhet Division to a moderate 276 for 6 in 94 overs against league leaders Barisal Division on the first day of the 8th round match of the four-day Ispahani Mirzapore Tea 10th National Cricket League at the Sylhet Divisional Stadium Monday.
Saikat Ali played a superb innings of 111 runs off 203 balls with 16 fours and a six while middle order Golam Rahman was batting with 70 runs off 185 balls that featured nine fours and a six.
Tariqul Islam picked up four wickets for 73 runs while Abul Bashar and Saju Dutta took one wicket apiece.

In another match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium at Mirpur, Dhaka Division were sent into bat first and dismissed cheaply for 142 runs in 47.4 overs with national colour Mahmudullah Riyad making 38.
Delwar Hossain caused the major damage to Dhaka innings claiming five wickets for 45 runs while spinner Suhrawardy Shuvo and Safiul Islam grabbed two wickets each for 13 and 31 runs respectively.
In reply, Rajshahi Division opened the first innings to score 91 for 2 in 35.4 overs at stumps on day one with opener Jahurul Islam batting with 56 runs off 115 balls that included eight fours.
Mahmudullah Riyad and Emon Ahmed took one wicket each conceding 8 and 15 runs respectively.

After the dismissal of four top order batsmen-Habibur Rahman (4), Amit Majumder (17), Ashraful Aziz (1), Sahagir Hossain (33) -- for 76 runs in 22.4 overs, Raihan Anas pairing with Nahidul Haque carried the team total to a respectable position contributing 107 runs in the 5th wicket stand.
Number six Nahidul Huq scored 67 runs off 136 balls with nine fours and a six, number five Raihan Anas made 63 off 184 balls with nine fours while lower order Ziaur Rahman was batting with 43 runs off 64 balls that included eight fours.
Seamer Tareq Aziz Khan captured four wickets for 53 runs.
