Sale of vegetables at affordable prices starts in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, Nov 1 (BSS): Sale of different types of vegetables has started at Janatar Bazaar, a temporary market, in front of the Police Cafe in the town here on Thursday.
Anti-discrimination Student movement, district unit inaugurated the bazaar to help the common people to purchase vegetables at affordable prices.
Primarily, 10 items of vegetables are being sold in the bazaar at affordable prices. Per piece of bottle gourd is being sold at Taka 30-40, sweet gourd at Taka 40, Cauliflower at Taka 50, Kakrol at Taka 45, Potal at Taka 30 and each kilogram potato is being sold at Taka 50.
Crowd of customers was noticed in every shop of the bazaar and they expressed their happiness to buy the daily necessities at a lower price in the market.
The vegetables which are collected from the growers at fair prices are being sold to the customers at nominal profit, said a coordinator.
Md. Shariful Islam, a customer who purchased three items of vegetables from the bazaar, said prices of most vegetables are on a downward trend in the market compared to other kitchen markets.
The elite of the town here highly appreciated the initiative.
Considering the interest of the customers, especially the fixed-income group people, they also recommended introducing more bazaars in the town as early as possible.
