Salim Prodhan, two others remanded again

A court here on Sunday placed casino kingpin Salim Prodhan and his two accomplices on a five-day remand each in a money laundering case, reports UNB.
His two accomplices
are - Roman and Akteruzzaman.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shadbir Yasir Ahsan Chowdhury passed the order when investigation officer of the case Md Shahidul Islam of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) sought a 10-day remand for each.
The trio was also placed on a four-day remand on October 3 in a drug-related case.
RAB-1 members arrested Salim from the Dhaka airport while he was going to Thailand on September 30.
During a raid on his house and office, Rab seized Tk 1 crore in local and foreign currencies. Akhtaruzzaman and Roman were arrested from his Gulshan residence.
Forty-one bottles of foreign liquor, 12 passports, 32 cheques, a laptop, a desktop and five master cards were also seized during the drives.
On October 1, a Rab mobile court sentenced Salim to six months' jail for possessing two deer hides.
