Salman reelected Tea Association chairman

CHITTAGONG, Aug 09: Mirza Salman Ispahani has been reelected chairman of Bangladesh Tea Association (Bangladeshiya Cha Sangshad), an organisation of tea garden owners association, for 2008-10 term.
New executive committee of the trade body was formed in an election held at its Chittagong office Thursday. Md Safwan Chowdhury and Alamgir Kabir were elected senior vice chairman and vice chairman respectively.
Iftekher Ahmed, HMM Ziaul Ahmad, Md Shah Alam, Dr Nurul Alam, Shah Khairul Alam, Shakib A Chowdhury, M Wahidul Hoque, Mostafa Kamal, Morshedul Alam Quaderi, Kamran T Rahman, Riazur Rahman and Q H Zaman were elected executive members.
Election Board Chairman Shaukat Hossain conducted the election and Election Board Members Col. (Retd) Sharif Waliur Rahman and Ahmadul Hoque Chowdhury assisted him.
In a post-election address in brief, the re-elected chairman Salman Ispahani expressed his thanks and gratitudes to the election board for conducting the election fairly on behalf of the newly elected executive committee and association.
