The national salt policy would be finalised soon for facilitating salt farmers and salt mill owners, Industries Minister Dilip Barua said Thursday.
He called upon all to come forward in protecting the sector as a locally raw-material based industry and urged mill owners to apply corporate social responsibility for welfare of the farmers.
He said this while speaking at a meeting with salt farmers and salt mill owners at his ministry.
Salt farmers and mill owners recommended the price fixation of salt every year like paddy and rice and urged the government to include the installation of godowns at the production area in the national salt policy.
