Samad becomes IUB Trustee board chair

Mr Towhid Samad has unanimously been elected chairman of the board of Trustees of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) recently for a two year term, said a press release. Mr Samad, an honours graduate and a masters in Economics, was elected chairman of the ESTCDT, the Founding Trust of IUB, in 2004 for a two year term. He was also re-elected for a second term in June 2006. On completion of his tenure, he was elected chairman of the Governing Council of the IUB in August 2008 and served the Council until assuming office of the chairman of the newly constituted board of trustees under the Private University Act 2010.
