Samoa for increasing cooperation with BD

Prime Minister of Samoa, Tuilaepa Aiono Sailele Malielegaoi, has expressed his interest in exploring the possibilities of cooperation with Bangladesh. The foreign ministry on Wednesday said he was particularly interested to increase cooperation in the areas of agriculture and readymade garment (RMG). He expressed this eagerness when State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam met him on the sidelines of the 3rd UN Conference on Small Island Developing States’ in Apia, Samoa. Alam sought the Samoan government’s support for Bangladesh's candidacy in different elections, including that of the Human Rights Council, International Telecommunication Union and Inter-Parliamentary Union. He also held bilateral meetings with his counterparts from small island states like the Marshall Islands, Antigua and Barmuda, and Dominica. Alam is representing Bangladesh in the conference, according to bdnews24.com.
