Samson Chy's death condoled

Various trade body leaders and ministers Friday condoled the death of renowned industrialist and chairman of Square Group Samson H Chowdhury.
Samson H Chowdhury died of old-age complications in a Singapore hospital Thursday at the age of 86.
In a condolence massage, International Chamber of Commerce Bangladesh (ICCB), the world business organisation, expressed deep shock and grief at the sad demise of Samson H Chowdhury, who was vice-president of ICC, Bangladesh. Mr. Chowdhury was associated with the trade body since its inception in the 90s.
"Mr Chowdhury has been guiding various trade bodies including FBCCI and MCCI in formulating trade and investment policies of the country for the last five decades," said the message.
Mentioning Mr Chowdhury as the only business legend of the time, the message further said ICCB was fortunate to have his continuous guidance and directions in carrying out its activities not only in Bangladesh but also other parts of the world.
In another message, Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) expressed deep shock and grief at the death of Samson H Chowdhury.
The BGMEA said the death of Mr Chowdhury will create a irreparable vacuum in the field of the country's industrial sector.
In a separate message, Board of Directors of Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BMCCI) deeply condoled the demise of Samson H Chowdhury.
Mentioning him as an entrepreneur and industrialist, the BMCCI leaders said he was a true entrepreneur and built the ethical business philosophy in Bangladesh for which millions of his business friends and well-wishers admired him.
"He sacrificed his entire life for noble cause of humanity and played a visionary role in the industrial development of Bangladesh," BMCCI leaders added.
In another condolence massage, Health and Family Welfare Minister AFM Ruhal Haque expressed deep condolence at the demise of a leading entrepreneur of the country.
The minister said Samson H Chowdhury has immense contribution to the industrial and economic development of the country.
"The nation will remember the contribution of this pioneer entrepreneur in ensuring quality healthcare facility to the country people and his role of making the pharmaceutical sector of the country globally popular," the minister added.
