SANEI secretariat moves to BIDS

The Secretariat of South Asia Network of Economic Research Institutes (SANEI) has been moved to Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS) for the next five years, a press release said.
A decision was taken in this regard in a recent meeting of the general body of SANEI held in Lahore.
SANEI is a regional initiative to foster networking amongst economic research institutions in South Asia. The aim of the network is to establish strong research inter-linkages among diverse economic research institutions in Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, the members of the network.
The Director General of BIDS, Dr M K Mujeri has been elected as the new Coordinator of SANEI.
After its inception in 1999, the secretariat of the SANEI was located at Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER), New Delhi for five years and then it moved to Pakistan Institute of Development Economics.
