Sanitation month observed in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, Oct 28 (BSS): National sanitation month-2014 is being celebrated in all the seven upazilas of the district from October 15 with a call to achieve 100 percent sanitation coverage target by 2015 through stopping the open defecation.
To celebrate the month in a befitting manner, district and upazila administrations and Department of Public Health Engineering (DPHE) have jointly taken up elaborate programmes here in cooperation with Policy Support unit of Local Government Division.
The programmes include holding of rallies, discussion meeting and motivational campaign and rendering songs and staging dramas on sanitation at public and important places of the district.
A colorful rally was brought out recently in Sundarganj upazila town of the district marking the sanitation month.
Monjurul Islam Liton MP led the rally that ended on the premises of the upazila headquarters building after parading the main roads of the town.
