Santu Larma for proper execution of CHT peace treaty

RANGAMATI, Apr 22 (BSS): Chairman of Chittagong Hill Tracts Regional Council (CHTRC) Joytirindra Bodhi Priya Larma alias Santu Larma today alleged that a vested quarter is obstructing implementation of the CHT peace treaty on different pleas. Addressing the 11th Central Conference of CHT Women's Association here today, Larma said proper implementation of the peace treaty and amendment to the CHT land commission act is essential to ensure the rights of hill people. Santu Larma also demanded constitutional recognition to the tribal people as aboriginals and urged his workers to be united to realize the demand. President of the association Joyti Prabha Larma presided over the meeting while central leaders of Parbatya Chattagram Jana Sanghati Samity (PCJSS) Mongal Kumar Chakma, Bijoy Ketan Chakma and Ashini Newar spoke, among others.
