Satkhira BNP leader held for \\\'violating\\\' polls rules

Police arrested Habibur Rahman Habi, president of Satkhira municipality unit BNP and brother of BNP-backed chairman candidate in the upazila (UZ) polls, on Friday evening on charge of violating the electoral code of conduct. Witnesses said a police team picked up Habi, brother of BNP-blessed chairman candidate in Sadar upazila Abdur Rauf who is now in jail, from an election rally at Bangalermor around 7:15pm. Confirming the arrest, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station Inamul Haque Biswas said they held Habi for violating the electoral rules. Besides, he was accused in a sedition case, the OC added, according to UNB.
